Iceland Volcano eruption has caused several impacts on environment but today we are not going to talk about adverse impacts on environment rather the chaos in flights and resultantly impact on Dubai Hotels. The cloud of Icelandic volcanic ash has caused the cancellation of numerous flights into many parts of Europe. This incident is proving to be good for Dubai Hotels at least, as mostly hotels near Dubai airport have observed increase in occupancy rate at once.
No wonder that the affected guests have extended their stay for up to a week. As the climatic conditions are good in Dubai from last month, hotels were already having an increase in occupancy rate but this eruption caused such flight chaos that hotels are completely filled now.
This thing has not applied to the guests who had to stay in Dubai but also to those who were not able to come to Gulf and canceled their bookings. But increase in occupancy rate has covered that gap on behalf of guests who could not make to come to Dubai. All flights from Gulf to Europe have been canceled on Monday, the fifth day, and the routes are not cleared yet. The cancellation of flights has affected the tourists’ schedule holidaying in emirates and they are forced to extend their stay in emirates.
It is quite good that Dubai hotels are working at their peak to cater enough of the European guests and almost every hotel is running at 100 percent occupancy. Well, it might be possible that these hotels will start to be evacuated from tomorrow because the European airports are expected to reopen soon now. Hotels may see a drop in advance bookings as travelers may not prefer to fly out of their native countries while postponing their stays to some other suitable time or may be due to fear of not being able to return to home at the end of their holidays.
