Though Dubai is a clean and safe city for tourists and Dubai Government carries out immunization programs successfully to keep the tourists and travelers healthy and safe. Due to strict rules and regulations imposed by Dubai Government and provision of clean water and high standards of cleanliness in Dubai hotels, the city is honored as one of the cleanest cities in the world. There are no reported cases of any severe travelers’’ illness. Hotels and restaurants are kept clean according to the high international health and safety standards. This is about city but being a tourist, you must also be aware of health risks and it is always better to be on a safer side.
In the following post, let’s assume what travelers must do before landing into Dubai and staying in any of the hotels there.
Health Check!
The city is touted as “the clean city” of the world and therefore no special kind of vaccination is required before going to Dubai but to be on safer side, it is better to undergo a health checkup. It is just to avoid any health complication, if you are traveling from a health-risk area. Taking tetanus or flu inoculation is recommended, especially if you are planning for a long trip.
Hepatitis A is very rare and is transmitted just by infected water and food so be very careful while eating food anywhere in the city. Hepatitis B, C and D are transmitted through sexual contact, blood transfusion and through unsterilized needles. You must be very conscious wherever you are and when you are in any city.
Other Lesser Health Risks!
Mosquitoes are everywhere in towns and cities, though government is trying to get rid of them completely and got remarkable success in this combat. However, different kinds of moths and mosquitoes are found in desert and beach areas, especially if you are staying in camp. Therefore, mild fever tablets and mosquito repellents are recommended to carry along you to avoid falling ill while visiting to Dubai.
Weather is extremely hot in Dubai and to avoid heatstroke, you must carry ample amount of drinking water, hats, sunglasses and sun block lotions, to protect your skin.
This is all for today. I am not saying you not to fly to Dubai to enjoy your holidays; I am just saying to take preventive actions before visiting.
