Citymax Hotel Dubai – going to open in mid April

A good news coming out of Dubai Hotel industry is that New Budget Hotel brand Citymax is soon going to open its first hotel in in mid April. In fact this hotel will be followed a couple more in Bur Dubai and Sharjah, and their inauguration will be done in June, told the General Manager, Michael Weyland.

Citymax Al-Barsha which will be the first hotel by the brand in U.A.E located behind Mall of the Emirates will have 378 rooms, pool, gym, coffee shop, bar and grill restaurant offering finger licking meal with live music on some nights. The brand’s overall entrance in the hotel industry is with 1331 rooms and as it is targeting middle market, charges will be less than AED 300 inclusive of Govt. taxes and the package will include complementary breakfast for its honored guests.

“We are the only brand that has an absolute straight forward rate structure. We have high season rates and low season rates, and that is it,” Weyland said.

Discussing the future plans in Bur Dubai and Sharjah, he explained that the firm’s largest hotel will be in Bur Dubai with 693 rooms and having Indian and Chinese restaurants, while the peculiar charm of 260-room Sharjah hotel is that it will not serve alcohol at all, just coffee shop facility.

Citymax is not the first budget hotel in Dubai but the brand is not concerned with competition or emirates’ expansion. Weyland explained  “We feel that the market is large enough for all of us. Something that is in favor of mid market hotels in light of the economic conditions worldwide is that a lot of larger companies have revised putting their staff in five star hotels. It is now a matter of image to say ‘no we’re going into a mid market hotel.”

He commented further that Tourists already know that Dubai is a luxurious destination for Richie-rich folks but other tourists wants to see emirates as an affordable holiday spot, so if you are giving something affordable to all in this market, it is a positive sign for the investment and tourism in area.

We are all looking forward to this project hoping that it will provide what it has promissed.

Dubai becoming a hotspot for tourists from USA

Dubai is definitely one of the most visited spot for people all around the world but the trend is more inclined towards US citizens for 2010-2011. For this year, Emirate has been listed among the top ten tourists’ spots for US, according to a hotel survey recently conducted. There is already a steady increase in travelers’ numbers and this is happening because Dubai is ranked much high in tourists mind because of all luxuries, hotels, palms, beaches, festivals and other attractions.

Dubai happens to be one of the best and expensive destinations with more than average hotel rates but still people love to come and spend vacations there. The average rates in best available hotels are around $227 per night. Globally this rate is around $198.67 but we must keep in mind the kind of luxury and glamor provided in Dubai hotels.

Meanwhile, hotels’ average daily rate decreased last year as hotel industry experienced steep decline (around 30 percent last year). But with the beginning of 2010, hotel industry anticipates the boom again as more tourists are getting attracted to Dubai once more with same zeal and passion. Shopping Festival is happening nowadays and in April another event is going to take place. It is not wrong that Dubai Hotels are expecting more visitors as compared to previous year.

Once Dubai was competing with traditional leading holiday spots like London, Paris, Egypt but now Dubai is in the top cities list. This winning venture is not conquered overnight; it took years to get there. Mostly travelers love to visit beaches, traditional architects’ pieces, monuments and festivity, Dubai has brought it all in one package. There are beaches, traditional desert, skyscrapers, hotels, sporting activities, festivals and much more still waiting to be unveiled. That is why; it is the only choice that comes to your mind when planning your vacations, business meetings or casual off days. Dubai can be summed up as a sleek amalgamation of modernism with traditions.
