Makkah Clock Tower going to be the World’s Tallest Hotel

Sleek, Stylish and another Record Breaker, the Rose Rayhaan hotel soars up to 333 meters in air, making it the tallest hotel not only in Dubai but all over the world. Apart from being certified as the world’s tallest hotel by Guinness Book of World Record, it has everything that you can expect from a luxurious hotel. Hotel is bearing 481 spacious rooms and suites equipped with kitchenette, in-room cabinets, laundry & dry cleaning services, complimentary coffee & tea, 24 hours high-speed broadband internet access and wide washroom. A wonderful combination of comfort packed with personalized services. Please note that the hotel is alcohol-free.

However, the title as of world’s tallest hotel is soon going to be snatched when the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts group initiates the Makkah Clock Royal Tower. The Makkah Clock Tower will be 577 meters high, having 76 storeys and it’s scheduled to be opened in 3rd quarter of the year 2010.

The tower will also house the Emaar Residences. The Makkah Clock Royal Tower in Saudi Arabia is set to become a key destination for Middle East travelers and wealthy pilgrims performing the hajj. The super-luxurious hotel will be situated in the holy city of Makkah with 858 rooms and also the world’s largest clock that is 40 meter high. It will offer various dining options and conference facilities.  The hotel will also include the Lunar Observation Center and Islamic Museum to add fascination for the visitors. Fairmont is planning to open seven more properties this year, one is in Makkah and other properties include Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, Fairmont Pittsburgh, Fairmont Beijing and the Fairmont Zimbali Resort which sits along South Africa’s sublime east coast.

Knowing how keen is Dubai to hold all such titles ( world’s tallest building, largest man made island, etc). Should we expect an announcement anytime soon, announcing the construction of an even taller hotel?

Dubai Hotels Attracting More Visitors from China

China has relaxed its visa restrictions, giving new source of tourists for the recession-hit tourism industry, big news for Dubai Hotel and Tourism Industry. Dubai has witnessed 50% increase in the number of tourists in 2009 as compared to the previous years and it is expected that the number of tourists will be almost more than double within the next 12 months.

Chinese officials allowed travel agencies to promote Dubai and travel agencies are promoting Dubai Annual Spring Shopping Festival in a zealous way to attract more and more Chinese tourists. Agencies are giving out hefty discounts that also include a stay in the eight-star Emirate Palace Hotel. The luxury package includes one night stay in Emirate Palace.

Tour costs are reduced to almost 40% as compared to 2008 prices so more tour programs are promoted officially and through travel agencies. Michelle Chen, the deputy general manager of Hunter International Tourism, which is one of China’s largest travel agencies said “The UAE was not an official tourism destination for China before, therefore Chinese tours were mostly for business and exhibition purposes, but now due to new Dubai hotels, multicultural activities and several other shopping attractions, Chinese are intending to visit Dubai especially.”

Investors may be bogged down by Dubai debt crisis and its impact on World’s Financial Markets but apparently it hasn’t had any significant negative effect on Hotel & Tourism Industry in Dubai.

Giorgio Armani, the legendary fashion designer signed an indenture in 2004 with Emaar Properties Dubai, which states that Armani would build and operate classic hotels & resorts under its own name and oversee the whole interior to provide the visitors a typical Armani experience. One such classic hotel is soon going to fling open its doors for guests (18th March, 2010).

Armani hotel is expected to be an exclusive destiny for citizens and a benchmark for all others looking to enter into the hotel industry. The hotel occupied forecourt to level 8, 38 and 39 of the iconic tower. It is promised that Armani’s style is woven throughout the 160 suites and 144 private residences personally designed by Giorgio Armani. The hotel is presenting 8 superb dinning experiences with culinary excellence, not only Mediterranean style but also varied taste of Italian, Indian and Japanese cuisines.
